This is almost the end of the internship. In fact, in 10 days, it will be done. This day I just focused on how different are investments in sport in Europe and USA. Chelsea, just sold for 2.9 billion euros to US tycoon Todd Boehly, broke the world record for the most expensive football club in the world. Milan, which has just changed hands with a valuation of 1.2 billion, has done the same with regard to the Italian league. But perhaps what matters most is that the most expensive acquisition in all of world sport was finalized during the last months: the Denver Broncos, an NFL football franchise broke all records by reaching a valuation of 4.65 billion dollars ( approximately 4.3 billion euros) paid by the Walton-Penner group led by Rob Walton, heir to the family that controls the US supermarket giant Walmart. A valuation that is almost 1 billion dollars higher than the theoretical valuation made by Forbes as recently as a year ago, equal to 3.7 billion. As if to say that the ratings of the American magazine are rounded down and not up.Finally, even the NBA, in the league of basketball with stars and stripes, is about to place an important blow in this sense. Nike founder Phil Knight is set to buy the Portland Trail Blazers, the sportswear giant's city basketball team, for $2 billion. A monotonous trend that worldwide leaves little doubt about the increase in the value of sports clubs. The interesting aspect, however, is that all this happens while since the beginning of the year the S&P 500 index, considered the index that measures the US economy, has lost 18% between geopolitical tensions and the energy price crisis.
