This day was a different one, doing my activities for my internship. The main activity was to look for secondary sources to find financial statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements of Manchester United that is one of the companies that I am analyzing in terms of brand perspective other than a financial and economic standpoint. It sounds like an easy activity, but it is not. It is important to not just find the sources, but to analyze and verify them, because they have to be reliable in terms of data and analysis. It could seem a boring day at the office, but every activity has a sepcific purpose for the main project that is to analyze the behavioral economy and corporate governance in the sport entertainment industry and the creation of the "sport wave" and how all these factors attract new investors and investments. After have looked for many different sources ( it required around 2 hours) I started to analyze the documents, trying to focalize just on the relevant and important data, such as the current assets, liabilities, net income, expenses etc. All these points are crucial to make an index analysis to understand the current financial situation of the company and to determine if there is an opportunity for investments for institutions or organizations. At the end of these two days, I was able to get everything that I needed to perform a in-depth analysis. While today was just about gathering data and organize them, tomorrow it will be time for the actual analysis.
